Woods & Co Recruitment has partnered with a subsidiary of the largest mechanical construction company in the United States in their search for a Business Development Manager to join their team.

The successful candidate will specialize in Building Management Systems (BMS), Temperature Controls, and Energy Management Systems (EMS) in order to lead sales efforts in New Jersey. This role focuses on driving revenue growth, managing client relationships, and collaborating with technical teams to deliver customized building automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.
• ​​​​​​​Identify new business opportunities while maintaining relationships with existing clients.
• Collaborate with consulting engineers on control specifications and potential opportunities.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities and provide insights to senior management.
• Conduct technical presentations and “lunch and learn” sessions with clients, engineers, GCs, and mechanical contractors.
• Represent the company at industry events and trade shows as required.
• Lead, train, and motivate the sales team to maximize performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
• ​​​​​​​5+ years of experience in BMS, HVAC, or Temperature Controls sales.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong understanding of building automation systems and energy management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.
