Woods & Co Recruitment has partnered with a subsidiary of the largest mechanical construction company in the United States in their search for an NY-based
BMS Systems Engineer to join their team.
The successful candidate will be able to design, program, and maintain building automation systems while collaborating with project teams to deliver efficient, customized solutions.

What do you do: - Produce drawings, sequences of operation, and bills of material of building automation systems for submission to project Engineers/teams.
- Develop and program BMS software databases with graphics according to project specifications. Design, integrate, and support network migration for Internet, Ethernet, BACnet, and Modbus platforms.
- Maintain an accurate As-Built drawing package and make changes in Autocad, Visio, Excel, and Word as required.
- Perform field visits to adjust design sequences and support functional checkout and commissioning, ensuring systems operate correctly and project schedules are met.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with team members, clients, and consulting engineers, supporting design discussions and fostering company growth throughout projects.
- Provide value engineering recommendations and conduct surveys to generate repair recommendations and customer reports.
- Remain current on the latest products, technologies, and applications available.
- Develop custom energy reporting, power metering, trending, and billing programs.
What do you need: - Bachelor’s degree in EE, ME, CE, Math, or Physics.
- Strong interest in building automation and controls required.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the HVAC/controls industry.
- DDC controller programming, third-party device integration with BACnet and Modbus preferred.
- Experience with mechanical system operation.
- Basic understanding of the construction process preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiating, and organizational skills.
- Competency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Automated Logic WebCTRL experience is a plus.
