As the US People Partner, you’ll play a key role in supporting teams across New York and California. You’ll collaborate closely with Studio Managers, the Education team, and the UK-based People team to deliver day-to-day HR support.
This is a true generalist opportunity with responsibilities ranging from employee relations and hiring coordination to cultural initiatives and onboarding. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment and is passionate about creating outstanding employee experiences.

What do you do: - Oversee employee relations & compliance as the primary contact for people matters; lead ER cases and ensure alignment with NY and CA employment laws.
- Maintain US employee handbooks; update and roll out policies in partnership with legal advisors.
- Manage onboarding/off-boarding, right-to-work checks, and HR system processes to ensure compliance and a seamless employee experience.
- Collaborate with Finance to support payroll accuracy, timekeeping, and maintenance of employee records.
- Coordinate US studio hiring in partnership with the UK people team; manage ATS and lead local talent outreach.
- Drive DEI, recognition, and studio engagement programs to foster a values-led and consistent culture.
- Own studio-level reporting on probation, absence, training, and engagement to inform people strategies.
What do you need: - NYC-based and willing to be present across our 4 studio locations at least twice per week.
- 4–6 years of experience in HR generalist, People Partner, or similar roles, within retail, wellness, or hospitality.
- Strong working knowledge of NY and CA employment law, and experience in managing sensitive ER matters.
- Comfortable using HR systems and tools (experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred)
- Experience overseeing end-to-end employee lifecycles.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skills.
- Adaptability, flexibility, and a positive can-do attitude.
