Founded in 1847, this is one of Manhattan’s premier and most respected clubs. You can expect museum-worthy walls, sharp conversation, and a guest list that reads like a footnote in history.
As a Sous Chef in this prestigious club, alongside the Executive Head Chef, you will oversee kitchen staff, the overall food operation and ensure quality, consistency & efficiency whilst delivering exceptional food. You will be responsible for all food, dry goods, equipment and overall inventory in relation to the kitchen.

What do you do?
Develop unique receipes and plate presentations based on current culinary trends
Provide clear directions for all day-to-day operations within the kitchen
Lead a large team of kitchen staff
Ensure all food products are compliant with Federal and State quality guidelines
Communicate with club members to gather feedback on menu items
Sit in and engage in on kitchen regular kitchen meetings for review of menu items, food pricing etc
Demonstrate clear leadership and direction in the high volume moments
Ensure all kitchen equipment is in strong working order
What do you need?
Previous experience in a fine dining environment (members club, country club etc)
Work as a non-union working Sous Chef will be extremely highly regarded
Expert knowledge of kitchen operations
Leadership skills
Ability to take direction from Head Chef
Team player
