Woods & Co Recruitment have partnered with an international paper and cardboard manufacturing & packaging company that is continuing to expand its U.S. operations. They are now seeking a General Technician to support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and reliability of production equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, mechanically minded professional who enjoys working with machinery, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring production lines operate safely and efficiently. What do you do?
Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on production equipment and machinery
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize production downtime
Support machine setup, adjustments, and changeovers on production lines
Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
Assist with preventative maintenance programs and maintenance documentation
Work closely with production teams to quickly resolve operational issues
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the facility
Follow company safety procedures and manufacturing best practices
What do you need?
High school diploma or technical training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance
1–3 years of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment
