Woods & Co Recruitment is partnered with a world-leading specialty insurance agency that is seeking an experienced Inland Marine Underwriter to join their dedicated Inland Marine team. They are looking for candidates across Canada/U.S. in this fully remote position to underwrite and grow a best-in-class inland marine and physical damage book across an established dealer and OEM network.
What's in it for you?
• Remote work schedule with high autonomy and structured team support
• Join a specialty insurance platform with $4B in managed premium
• Work within a focused Inland Marine team — not a generalist role
• State-of-the-art underwriting technology, product customization, and financial stability
What you'll do:
• Underwrite inland marine and physical damage risks within an established book of business
• Manage and grow key partner and dealer relationships across the distribution network
• Own a high-demand specialty equipment product with strong market data and real underwriting authority
• Contribute to portfolio strategy, conduct audits, and participate in planning at a senior level — meaningful scope from day one
What we're looking for:
• 4+ years in P&C underwriting with a focus on Inland Marine — this is a core requirement
• Licensed P&C producer in the U.S. or Canada, or willingness to obtain licensure
• Commercial Middle-Market underwriting experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with construction equipment, dealer programs, or specialty equipment markets is a strong asset
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional certification
If you're an Inland Marine underwriter looking to own a real book, work within a team of specialists, and bring your expertise to a growing specialty platform — apply now. We are interviewing immediately.
